Maximizing Effects

Medicine can indeed be helpful to boost your efforts HOWEVER,

  1. to maintain proper nutrition despite a decreased appetite,

  2. to further improve your health through an anti-inflammatory lifestyle,

  3. to reduce the number and severity of side effects,

  4. to know what to do to break through any plateau you hit with the medicine, before reaching your goal,

  5. if you ever hope to be able to stop the medicine without regaining the weight, or

  6. if you cannot tolerate or afford these medicines (or are worried about possible side effects),

...it is critical to learn how to make necessary, but livable, positive changes in your eating habits.

This option combines phentermine, a stimulant controlled substance that suppresses your appetite, with the livable Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes necessary to keep the weight off after the medicine is stopped (phentermine is FDA-approved only for short-term use). It is typically started with a full (37.5 mg) or half (18.75 mg) tablet daily (as tolerated), and tapered over the course of a few (maximum of six) months, then intermittently (20 doses per month) for a maximum total of one year. For example, if you can tolerate (or need) the full strength:

Injection

Weekly injection of either Wegovy® (semaglutide) or Zepbound® (tirzepatide)

Details

A simple weekly subcutaneous injection could very well be the answer for which you've long been searching, taking most of the work out of weight loss.

You've likely heard of them: Wegovy® (semaglutide) and Zepbound® (tirzepatide) – they are indeed game- (and life-) changers...

...IF you can tolerate and afford them.

Dr. Cluff, the creator of SLIM TLC®, predicts that, because of this class of medicines, called "GLP-1 (or GLP-1/GIP) RAs (receptor agonists)" (hopefully combined with SLIM TLC®), the 2020s will forever be looked back upon in history as the decade that the rise in the "diabesity" epidemic began to plummet (the far reaching effects of which can now only be imagined) – along with the rate of almost every other metabolic disease. Together, diseases that are primarily metabolic (including heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and even Alzheimer's disease) represent half of the top ten causes of death, and are responsible for >50% of all deaths. We have the privilege of being grateful eyewitnesses to the unfolding of this phenomenon of disease prevention and/or reversal.

Fortunately, these medicines are FDA-approved for long-term use, so as far as we now know, you never have to stop taking them – even if/after you reach your goal (at which time you should be able to decrease the dose and frequency, thus decreasing costs).

This version of SLIM TLC® combines Wegovy® (semaglutide), a GLP-1 RA (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist), or Zepbound® (tirzepatide), a GLP-1/GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide) RA, with livable Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLCs)

Supercharged (both)

Phentermine tablet paired with low dose Wegovy® or Zepbound® injectables

Details

SLIM TLC® Supercharged! is a more customized, hybrid program that combines the lowest effective and tolerated doses of both phentermine and Wegovy® (semaglutide), a GLP-1 RA (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist), or Zepbound® (tirzepatide), a GLP-1/GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide) RA to provide you with the most effective program overall, while minimizing the potential negative side effects of both (the most concerning of which, for most people, are associated with semaglutide – primarily nausea and muscle loss). A list of negative side effects for both medicine types are summarized below.
